About Spire

[Spire: n. A top part or point that tapers upward; a pinnacle.]

Our name represents the philosophy of our business:

1.       To be viewed as the “top” accounting and business advisors in the Northland region;

2.       To represent the pinnacles of ability, integrity and service.

Our logo, the “climbing circles”, recognises that our business must continually strive to reach higher levels of performance.

The origins of our firm date back to the 1940’s and it has traded under several names since this time. Bryce Moffat and Jason Prisk have been directors of the firm since 1996.

Until 2007, Spire was a member of the international accountancy firm Grant Thornton. We withdrew from the Grant Thornton network to ensure that we retained our independence in response to moves to standardise the global Grant Thornton product offering. Spire retains a close working relationship with Grant Thornton International.

We have a further 20 team members comprising Chartered Accountants, trainees and administration staff. A number of our staff have backgrounds in commercial organisations, which enables them to relate to the issues faced by our clients within their respective businesses.
